About IIFT: Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up by Government of India in 1963. The main objective is to create professionals with expertise in foreign trade management. IIFT is a premier institute of world reputation. Various programs in the specialization area of foreign trade management are offered by IIFT. The main course is MBA in international Business. MBA (IB) full time of six trimester and MBA (IB) weekends nine trimesters.
  1. MBA (international Business): Two years’ full time at New Delhi, Kolkata and dar-es-Salaam
  2. MBA (International Business): Three years (nine trimesters) weekends, part time at New Delhi and Kolkata

Only in the first program i.e. MBA (IB) of Two years’ full time, the admission is done thru entrance exam. Candidates are called for next stage based on marks obtained in written examination for Group discussion and Personnel Interview. For all other programs, selection procedure is not thru written examination. Other programs are for industry experienced persons and selection is done based on group discussion and interviews. About MBA (IB) Exam: National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts written examination for admission to IIFT MBA courses. There are 420 seats available and more than 55,000 candidates appear in IIFT written examination. For the admission in 2020-2022 session, last date of registration is 25 October, 2019 and exam will be conducted on 1st December, 2019. The result will be declared on 11th December, 2019. This exam is only for admission to IIFT. Age Limit: There is no age limit. Educational Qualification: For Indian nationals, 50% in graduation and for foreign nationals’ valid GMAT score is required to apply for the entrance examination. However, the students pursuing in final year of graduation can also apply with a condition that they will have to produce final certificate/ Mark sheets at the time of admission. IIFT Exam Pattern: NTA for IIFT exam has unique marking scheme. Total number of questions vary from year to year. e.g. in year 2016 there were 118 questions and in year 2016 & 2017 there were 123 questions.  There is different cut off marks for different sections. There are four sets of exam papers. The exam will be OMR based with MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) type to be attempted with Pen and pencil. The duration of exam will be of two hours and will cover questions from Verbal Ability, English Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Quantitative Analysis and General Knowledge subjects. For correct answers, marks will be 0.5/0.75/1.0. For wrong answers attempted, there is deduction of 1/3 mark. However, there is no mark deduction for un-attempted questions. Important tips before exam: (1) Candidates must ensure following item/ points before entering exam hall: 1.1 Must carry IIFT admit card which can be downloaded from IIFT web site. Remember admit card or hall ticket is not sent by post. 1.2 Carry your original ID/ photo proof (one of Aadhar Card/ College ID Card/ Driving License/ pan Card/ Passport/ Voter ID Card) In the exam hall: (2) 2.1 In the exam hall, HB Pencils, Pen, Eraser, Sharpener and Watch are allowed. 2.2 Not allowed item in exam hall are: Calculator, Mobile Phone, Pager, Tablet, Study Material and Bag Just Before starting exam:(3) 3.1 Before start writing the paper, Read the instructions carefully on the question booklet and answer sheet. 3.2 Carefully Write down your IIFT roll number on the OMR answer sheet and question paper. 3.3 Carefully write on your answer sheet the Set Name: A, B, C or D. 3.4 Use only an HB pencil to mark your answers (by darkening the appropriate cell) in the OMR sheet. During exam: (4) 4.1 Remark in case you wish to change your answer after carefully erasing the marked answer. In general, this should be avoided. 4.2 Remember not to mark more than one option of same question. This will be treated as wrong answer and negative mark will be given. 4.3 Rough work can only be done in the question paper using pen or pencil. QA, DI and LR are the most important sections and carry the highest mark. c. Start with the section you are more confident. d. Keep ready extra erasers, sharpeners and sharpened pencils as time is most important and should not waste time in sharpening pencils many times. IIFT Mock Test Series:(7) Just attempting several mock test sets will not help unless systematic method is adopted. After each attempt of mock test, analyze your performance in depth from the point of view of scoring, time taken and negative score. Must see solutions of wrong attempted questions and analyze which questions you could have answered correct.
