CAT 2019 Result: 10 Candidates score overall 100 percentile, all from tech backgrounds
This year, the CAT exam 2019 was conducted by IIM Kozhikode and the result of CAT 2019 is declared last Saturday i.e. on 4, January 2020. CAT exam is conducted on a rotational basis by IIM and is considered as toughest exam for admission to postgraduate courses in Business Management.
Again, candidates who dominated the CAT result, are from the background of Engineering and Technology. Ten candidates scored 100 percentiles and they are from Engineering and Technology background. This is the lowest number of candidates with 100 percentiles after 2013 when eight candidates scored 100 percentiles. Following 100 percentile, there are 19 out of 21 candidates who are from Engineering and Technology background who scored 99.99 percentile.
Out of the 100 percentile candidates, four are from Maharashtra while others are from Karnataka, Telangana, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Jharkhand.
This year’s statistic shows that highest number of candidates in the past ten years, i.e. 209,926 appeared in CAT 2019 including 134,917 male candidates, 75,004 female candidates, and five transgender candidates.
CAT examination which was held on 24 November, 2019, is for admission to post-graduation in business management to one of the 20 IIM and other prestigious school of management. IIM Kozhikode officially announced that out of the top 10 candidates with 100 percentiles, six are from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and three are from the National Institute of Technology (NIT).
